It’s time to face what’s harming our communities.
We’re pushing for real change, one day at a time.
We must unite if we want to end senseless violence.
We must teach our families, guide our youth,
and lead by example.
The legacy of Raymond Washington envisioned
are communities meant for unity, not destruction.
The time for change is now.
Together, we can build a safer, stronger future.
SCODAAT is a community-driven initiative focused on reducing gang involvement by uplifting and empowering individuals. Instead of emphasizing punishment, SCODAAT restores hope and purpose through mentorship, positive role models, and real opportunities for growth. By recognizing people’s strengths, the program helps them become leaders and contributors in their families and neighborhoods. SCODAAT believes that investing in people—one day at a time—builds safer, stronger, and more united communities.

2025 Nominees

Events

At the beginning of 2025, the JStew Foundation was invited to Homegirls Unity in the Community to the HGS Bloods/Crips Brunch. It was inspiring for our organizations to gather alongside other affiliated women’s sets that advocate for peace over conflict.
As a result we were invited to be part of the HGS board. We are contributing new ideas and inviting affiliated individuals we know to participate. We are proud to support this initiative and to highlight our ongoing community service efforts. We welcome all who seek to promote peace.

Our first SCODAAT outing took place on November 22, 2025, in Inglewood, California, breaking from our usual traditions. We hosted a Go-Kart event that brought together affiliated women from different communities into one united group. Representatives from Main, Brim, Broadway, and Kitchen Sets joined, creating a powerful moment captured in a single photo.
MAY 2019 - LOS ANGELES - The 87 Kitchen Crips had a meet-and-greet with Kitchen Crips from other cities in the Unites States at Firestone and Hooper on the eastside of South Los Angeles. Kitchen Crips from Chattanooga, Memphis, Kansas City and Seattle participated in meet-and-greet, to talk about the direction the leadership of the Los Angeles set is taking towards peace with rival sets including the 89 East Coast Crips, Be Bop Watts Blood, Neighborhood Family Swans and Mad Swan Bloods.
